Common Questions About DP Landlord Insurance.
Landlord insurance is a specialized policy that takes into account the unique needs of property owners who are renting out their properties to others. It considers additional risks updates coverages to better protect properties that are not owner-occupied.
Orion180's DP Landlord Insurance is designed with property owners in mind. We make it easy to customize coverage and find the right balance of cost and risk. Get the exact protection you need, and drop what you don't. Control your premium with a wide range of deductibles, an optional co-pay, and meaningful discount opportunities. Enjoy a superior insurance experience, with excellence in support and claims.
Traditional policies typically offer a more rigid, preset structure of coverages and deductible options. With DP Landlord, you get real choice in your covered perils and included coverages. We also offer you a true range of deductibles, with options on both the low and high end. Combined with our optional co-pay and discounts, we give you tools to take control of your policy and premium.
DP Landlord Insurance by Orion180 offers you more customization opportunities than typical landlord insurance. We have limited mandatory perils, with some additional requirements for mortgaged homes, to let you customize your protection. You can also choose to exclude everything but the core dwelling coverage. If you don’t need premises liability or landlord property coverage, for example, you can remove it from your policy.
Orion180 offers you a wide range of deductible choices, as well as an optional co-pay. Choose higher or lower deductibles, and add the co-pay, to balance your premium costs with your out-of-pocket costs in the event of a claim.
Discuss your specific policy with your insurance agent to understand exactly what is and is not covered. Two important considerations that are not covered by DP Landlord Insurance:
- Tenant’s Belongings — Even in a covered event where damage or loss to the property occurs, the tenant’s belongings would not be covered. This would require a separate renters policy held by the tenant.
- Flood Insurance — While water damage from different sources may be covered depending on the policy terms you choose, water damage caused by rising water outside of the home is not covered unless you have a separate flood insurance policy. Learn more about our Flood Insurance availability and discuss this important coverage with your agent.
Every property is different, and so is every policy. The amount of coverage you need depends on your home's size, age, location, and features. Work with an Orion180 agent to make sure you're covered without paying for more than you need.
We prioritize speed, clarity, and compassion at every step. You’ll speak directly with a live representative, not an automated system, and get guidance through the claims process with efficiency and empathy so you can focus on what matters most: rebuilding and moving forward.
Orion180 policyholders can easily manage their policy through the MY180 platform, available via app and desktop. MY180 allows you to:
